Terms of Service
Effective September 26, 2026. How the Site works, who does the work, and what the prices on it mean.
These terms govern your use of yegfurnacerepair.com (the "Site") operated by YEG Furnace Repair ("we", "us") and any request for heating, cooling or hot water service made through it. By using the Site, you accept these terms.
1. What the Site does
The Site provides information about furnace, air conditioning, heat pump and hot water tank service in Edmonton, Alberta and the surrounding communities, and lets you send a service request. The Site connects homeowners with a local licensed heating contractor (the "Contractor") that serves your area. The Contractor, not the Site, inspects the equipment, gives you the quote, performs the work, pulls any permits, issues the invoice and carries its own insurance.
In Alberta, gas work is done by a certified gasfitter and refrigerant work by a certified refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic. A furnace or hot water tank replacement needs a gas permit, which the Contractor pulls, followed by an inspection.
2. Prices and information on the Site
Prices shown on the Site are typical 2026 ranges for the Edmonton area, in Canadian dollars before GST. They are a guide only. They are not an offer, a quote or a promise of price. Your price is confirmed in writing by the Contractor before any work starts.
Troubleshooting and safety guidance on the Site is general information, not a substitute for an inspection of your equipment by a qualified technician. Do not open the burner compartment, bypass or jump safety switches or control boards, or handle refrigerant yourself. If you smell gas, leave the house, do not touch switches or the furnace, and call ATCO Gas's 24-hour emergency line or 911 from outside. If a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, get everyone out and call 911 from outside.
3. Requests, visits and quotes
- Sending the form is a request, not a booking. A booking exists when the Contractor confirms an arrival window with you.
- Arrival windows depend on demand and weather at the time and are not guaranteed. No-heat calls get priority.
- Any diagnostic or service call fee is stated before the visit is scheduled.
- The Contractor gives you the price in writing before work begins, and work proceeds only with your approval. If the job turns out to be different from what was quoted, work stops and a revised written quote is provided.
4. Access and site conditions
You agree to give safe access to the furnace, water heater, outdoor unit and vents, to tell the technician about known hazards and previous repairs, and, where required, to obtain consent from a landlord, condominium board or building management.
5. Payment
Payment terms, including any deposit, are stated on the Contractor's written quote or invoice. Accepted payment methods are listed on the invoice. Any financing is arranged between you and the lender, on its own terms and subject to approval.
6. Warranty
Warranties on labour and equipment, including their length and conditions, are set out on the Contractor's written quote and by the equipment manufacturer. Nothing on the Site is a warranty. Manufacturer warranties may require registration and regular maintenance.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Alberta law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the Site or from services performed by the Contractor. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Alberta's Consumer Protection Act or other consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement.
8. Intellectual property
Content on the Site (text, graphics, logo and code) belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied for commercial use without permission. You may print or share pages for personal, non-commercial use.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to submit false requests, interfere with the Site, or use it to send unsolicited messages.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Questions about work performed are handled first with the Contractor directly; unresolved disputes may be brought before the courts of Alberta.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date changes when we do. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
