Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information YEG Furnace Repair ("we", "us") collects through yegfurnacerepair.com (the "Site"), how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). By using the Site or sending us a request, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Information you send us. When you submit the request form, we collect your name, phone number, email address if you give it, your community, the service you need, how urgent it is, and any message you add (for example the furnace's age or the error code). We also record the page you sent the form from, the referring site and campaign parameters (UTM) so we know how you found us.
• Information collected automatically. Standard server logs and any analytics we run record your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed and time on the Site. We do not use this to identify you personally.
• Cookies. The Site may set essential cookies and analytics cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the Site still works without them.

2. Why we collect it and how we use it

• To reply to your request, confirm an arrival window and give you a price range.
• To pass your request to the licensed heating contractor who serves your area, who will contact you by phone, text or email to arrange the visit, quote and carry out the work.
• To keep the records that quotes, invoices, permits, inspections and warranty claims require.
• To improve the Site and measure which pages and campaigns lead to requests.

We collect only what is reasonable for these purposes. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send you marketing emails or text messages without your consent.

3. Who we share it with

Your information may be shared with:

• the heating contractor that performs the work, and the certified technicians working for it;
• Formspark, the service that processes the Site's request form and delivers submissions to us, and the provider that hosts the Site;
• analytics providers, in aggregated or de-identified form where possible;
• permitting authorities, inspectors, manufacturers (for warranty registration) or others where the law requires it or you ask us to.

Each service provider may use the information only to provide its service to us. Some providers store data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under the laws of that country.

4. Calls, texts and email

By giving us your phone number and email address, you agree that we or the servicing contractor may call, text or email you about your request. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can ask us to stop at any time by replying STOP to a text or by emailing us.

5. Consent and withdrawing it

You consent to the collection and use described here when you submit the form. You may withdraw consent to further contact at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by emailing info@yegfurnacerepair.com. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot complete your request.

6. Retention

Request records are kept only as long as needed to complete and support the job, meet warranty, permit and tax record-keeping obligations, and comply with the law, and are then deleted or anonymized.

7. Access and correction

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@yegfurnacerepair.com. We will reply within the time the law allows. Some records may be kept where the law requires it. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

8. Security

Form submissions travel over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to request records is limited to the people who need it to do the job. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Site is meant for homeowners and tenants arranging work on a home. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

10. Links to other websites

The Site may link to other websites, such as utility, government or manufacturer pages. Their privacy practices are their own.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top changes when we do. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
